Someday I’ll know who all these people are. Until then, we have Betsy and Edward P. Lawton, Jr.

How beautiful they all are!! What a treasured photo to have. I’m sure with your perseverance you’ll identify them all one day!

Their daughter is my FB friend, who doesn’t use FB very often. Perhaps there is a newspaper account. SURELY there’s a newspaper account.

I’m hoping their daughter knows! I can’t find a record, but Miz Florrie’s granddaughter just gave a link to searching newspapers online. I am taking part in the NaBloPoMo (National Blog Post Month), where I post every day. Fortunately, I have lots of photos from the Gold Mine in Sugar’s Closet, so that’s an easy goal to meet. I’m actually ahead of schedule, because WordPress allows you to schedule posts in the future. And now I have a smartphone that I can use for quickie posts! Yay me!

Here’s a link to the newspaper account. We still don’t know the names of the wedding party.

Hey Ruth, I really enjoy your blogs.
I was wondering if you have any info on the Lawtons that lived at Cedar Grove Plantation on Ashley River near Charleston during the Civil War.
First names would be great, they are mention a lot in my Great great Grandfathers Letters from that time. His name was Wm.G.Vardell.
Thanks so much. Cam. charlestonmazyck@yahoo

Cameron, I’ve looked for references to your Lawtons and also Cedar Grove, but can find nothing.
