In Search of Lawtons & Basingers: My Dear Mother, May 2, 1865

The prison system allows only one page, so William Starr Basinger’s handwriting has shrunk to fit as much information as possible onto a single page.

He writes to his mother about the list of the men killed in battle.

Tonight I’ll just post the image, because it’s tedious work transcribing his handwriting.  And I want to do it justice.
